The Indonesia Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Pertamina Training and Consulting are always committed to supporting strengthening community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.<\/p>\n
PT Pertamina Training and Consulting (PTC) together with the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) held hydroponic training for residents affected by COVID-19 in Jabodetabek, such as inmates, unemployed, disabled and others.<\/p>\n
PT PTC Assistant Manager for Corporate Communication & CSR, Olivia Steffibda Lasut, in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday, said this activity was one of the concrete steps in supporting the implementation of sustainable development goals in the categories of handling climate change and economic growth.<\/p>\n
“Hydroponics training was chosen as one of the social entrepreneurship trainings as an implementation of the use of small land as urban agriculture and as an effort to reduce carbon emissions from households and the surrounding environment,” said Olivia.<\/p>\n
Olivia said that this training targets groups of housewives, people with disabilities who do not have jobs, those who have dropped out of work, former prison residents, young people who have dropped out of school and underprivileged families.<\/p>\n
Through a social and environmental responsibility scheme, PT Pertamina Training and Consulting partners with the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation to empower communities to train people to achieve family economic independence through entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
Olivia stated that hydroponic training began to be implemented on August 27 2021 online for two days and continued with a monitoring program with a total of 17 participants selected through a series of selection processes.<\/p>\n
Online hydroponics participants receive planting media equipment as a form of hands-on practice and are monitored continuously until harvest time. The hydroponic plants sown are mustard seeds, lettuce, kale and spinach.<\/p>\n
The peak event and closing event of a series of hydroponic training was the hydroponic vegetable harvest at Sanggar DayaHumanity, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta on Wednesday (13\/10).<\/p>\n
Apart from that, there was a training activity on cooking healthy chicken noodles with preservative-free hydroponic vegetables by representatives of hydroponic training participants guided by Sri Wahyuni \u200b\u200bas chicken noodle culinary mentor and continued with hydroponic training evaluation by Ir Dwi Astuti Setyaningrum as training facilitator during the mentoring activity.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, YIIM Program Manager Ahmad Fanani said that PT PTC and YIIM had distributed five installations of hydroponic planting media and vegetable seeds to the communities supported by Sanggar DayaHumanity.<\/p>\n
“Then the next stage will be distributing five installations and seeds each to four other communities,” said Fanani.<\/p>\n
Fanani revealed the four communities, namely the reading park community for residents of Rumpin Bogor village, the street children community assisted by the Pertiwi Pasar Minggu Child Development Foundation, the Indonesian Mandiri Disabled Foundation and the community of underprivileged residents assisted by the Future Generation Creative House in Ciputat.<\/p>\n
And every five installations and vegetable seeds for three individual general participants outside the selected communities received assistance.<\/p>\n
In total there will be 40 hydroponic planting media installation assistance for five communities which will be handed over by PTC and YIIM as capital infrastructure assistance for businesses growing healthy vegetables. The five communities have participated in the entire series of training and practices for growing healthy hydroponic vegetables.<\/p>\n
Fanani said that training in the hydroponic method would foster a positive and productive hobby, and be implemented in a sustainable manner which would have an impact on results that would not only end during planting and harvest.<\/p>\n
Then the formation of assisted MSMEs will begin by diversifying hydroponic processed products to hydroponic equipment with local market share and<\/p>\n
Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n
