Jakarta: PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) together with the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) held an entrepreneurship training class. The training focuses on honing skills and creating job opportunities in difficult situations during the pandemic, especially for economically disadvantaged residents.<\/p>\n
According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), around 29.12 million people of working age in Indonesia were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in August 2020. The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) jumped to 7.07 percent from 5.23 percent. The DKI Jakarta region is the province with the highest TPT at 10.95 percent.<\/p>\n
Then the average national labor wage fell by 5.18 percent from IDR 2.91 million to IDR 2.76 million. Various efforts have been made by the government, such as economic stimulus packages so that companies do not terminate employment relationships (PHK), tax incentives, social assistance for formal and informal workers, and even providing pre-employment cards.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, based on data from the DKI Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Service, the number of entrepreneurs increased by 2.62 percent. Based on this data, Insight Investments invites the public and investors to invest and care to support social activities and community empowerment through innovative financial service products.<\/p>\n
Director of Insight Investments Management Ria M Warganda stated that the entrepreneurship training class program held was in line with sustainable development goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n
“Through this activity, it is hoped that we can guide training class alumni from economically disadvantaged communities to become successful people in entrepreneurship,” said Ria, in a written statement, Tuesday, July 13 2021.<\/p>\n
Muslih Ridwan, after attending a culinary training class, admitted that he had the courage to run a business selling chicken noodles. Apart from getting training opportunities, Muslih also received assistance with chicken noodle business equipment. Before training, Muslih was just a casual worker who had an irregular income.<\/p>\n
There is also Wanmayetti, a culinary training alumni who found out about Insight Investments entrepreneurship training through a friend. She and more than 20 mothers and young women who are under the Gemah Ripah Cooperative, have taken part in culinary training.<\/p>\n
After attending the training they opened a cake and rice box business. Wanmayetti even became a facilitator at the next cooking class, which was held by Insight Investments together with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) (LPSK) on 23-25 \u200b\u200bNovember 2020 at the Bali Province Governor’s Office, Denpasar City.<\/p>\n
“In line with sustainable development goals to eradicate poverty and end social inequality, Insight Investments strives to provide opportunities for economically disadvantaged people to become entrepreneurs so they can have a better life,” concluded Ria.<\/p>\n
Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n
