The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.<\/p>\n
, JAKARTA \u2013 Lightening the burden, the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) are again distributing aid to communities affected by Covid-19 in a number of regions in the archipelago.<\/p>\n
This time, the aid distributed was in the form of agricultural tools, such as hoes, sickles and pest spray equipment to as many as 100 farmers in East Lampung, Lampung and 100 farmers in Wonogiri, Central Java.<\/p>\n
The social service, which was held in conjunction with Heroes’ Day, from October to November 2020, also distributed aid to as many as 100 independence fighter veterans in South Tangerang and Tangerang City, Banten.<\/p>\n
Apart from that, assistance in the form of 150 basic food packages was also distributed to underprivileged communities in Lembata and Ende Regencies in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the YIIM Management, Chrisbiantoro, said that this assistance was aimed at easing the burden on the community.<\/p>\n
“We are trying our best to continue to contribute to easing the burden on people affected by Covid 19 throughout the archipelago, hopefully our contribution is useful and hopefully we will all be given health to be able to get through this pandemic,” said Chrisbiantoro in a written broadcast on Tuesday (24\/11\/2020).<\/p>\n

He expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this social service.<\/p>\n

The distribution of aid during the period from October to November 2020 ended with a collaborative webinar between YIIM and the Aceh Truth and Reconciliation Commission (KKR).<\/p>\n
The webinar entitled ‘Strengthening the Role of Civil Society in Encouraging the Implementation of SDGs Number 16’ was also supported by the international organization, May 18 Memorial Foundation which has offices in South Korea.<\/p>\n

The TRC has been working for three years and has produced many policies and recommendations for the future of human rights in Aceh and for survivors in particular.<\/p>\n
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Sustainable Development Goals which were ratified by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in 2015 have officially become guidelines for Indonesia’s development, especially since President Joko Widodo issued Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017 concerning Implementation of the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n
This webinar was attended by 60 participants from various backgrounds, including students, the general public, Aceh TRC survivors groups, and Aceh TRC commissioners.<\/p>\n
This event was a series of collaborative activities between YIIM and KKR Aceh which included the distribution of 150 basic food packages for survivors under the auspices of KKR Aceh.<\/p>\n
Assistance was provided to survivors from North Aceh, East Aceh, Aceh Besar, Bireuen and Pidie districts.<\/p>\n
“The role of civil society is very important in encouraging the implementation of SDGs number 16. Especially in the points of promoting a peaceful and inclusive society for sustainable development, opening opportunities for access to justice, and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels,” explained the Chair of the Aceh KKR, Afridal Darmi.<\/p>\n
“Hopefully this discussion will bring benefits to survivors and hopefully this collaboration will strengthen the KKR institution as a state representative to strengthen human rights protection,” he explained.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Aceh TRC Commissioner, Ainal Mardiah said that the implementation of SDGs number 16 was carried out in the form of encouraging psychological recovery programs for survivors, involving survivors in economic empowerment programs and encouraging affirmative policies for the recovery of survivors.<\/p>\n
“Currently, the KKR is also making efforts to improve the skills of survivors and encourage the birth of small businesses, so that the survivors’ economic lives can continue,” explained Ainal Mardiah.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a survivor under the auspices of the Aceh KKR, Mahdalena, told about the current condition of Aceh residents.<\/p>\n
Mahdalena also talked about her experiences and hopes in efforts to restore survivors’ rights.<\/p>\n
“Most of the survivors in Aceh are still in very weak economic conditions, and hope to be provided with assistance for economic empowerment so that the survivors in Aceh are more economically empowered,” said Mahdalena.<\/p>\n
