together with main partner Insight Investment Management, again held a humanitarian action to tackle the corona virus (Covid-19) in the form of distributing packaged rice and basic food packages to the community and informal workers in the Jakarta and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
YIIM and Insight held a humanitarian action in the form of distributing 300 packages of packaged rice and 100 packages of basic necessities to the community and informal workers, Friday (3\/4). This action takes the theme “You are not alone! Let’s spread inspiration and kindness to others in fighting the Corona Virus”.<\/p>\n
This humanitarian action aims to ease the burden on the community and informal workers due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has more or less had an impact on the income of small communities and informal workers who on average depend on wages and daily income. For this reason, YIIM and Insight are trying to contribute to maintaining microeconomic resilience, even on a limited scale, namely by ordering packaged rice from simple small rice stalls with online motorcycle taxi services and then distributing it to small communities such as parking attendants, buskers and informal workers such as street vendors.<\/p>\n
Apart from that, packaged rice is also distributed to homeless people and scavengers. The distribution of packaged rice was carried out in several places in Jakarta and its surroundings, including in the Tanah Abang, Duren Sawit, Cengkareng, Depok, Citayam and South Tangerang areas.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the distribution of basic food packages was carried out in collaboration with the Rukun Tetangga (RT) management in the areas of Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Citayam and Depok Beji, Depok. “We are taking this action to provide inspiration and spread kindness to others, so that small communities and informal workers remain strong.<\/p>\n
Even though it’s not a lot, we believe that a little bit of what we do will help microeconomic resilience, because by shopping at small stalls, ordering food and delivering food via online motorcycle taxis, the economy is indirectly growing. “Hopefully more people will care,” said YIIM Program and Institutional Director, Dewi Astari, Saturday (4\/4).<\/p>\n
With this assistance, a representative from Insight, Suluh T. Rahardjo hopes that the corona virus outbreak will end soon and the economy will recover quickly. “Hopefully what we are doing can inspire many people to stimulate the economy even though the corona virus is still endemic. We have to work together,” concluded Suluh.<\/p>\n
