This time, the assistance provided was in the form of distribution of packaged rice and basic food packages to the community and informal workers in the Jakarta area and its surroundings.<\/p>\n
This caring action was stated by the Director of Programs and Institutions at YIIM, Dewi Astari, as a series of humanitarian actions to tackle the Corona virus.<\/p>\n
Previously, his party collaborated with BAZNAS and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to spray disinfectant liquid in public places and places of worship in the South Jakarta area on March 24 2020.<\/p>\n
Through activities with the theme ‘You are not alone! Let’s Spread Inspiration and Kindness to Others Against the Corona Virus’, Dewi Astari together with PT Insight Investment Management distributed 300 packages of packaged rice and 100 packages of basic necessities to the community and informal workers.<\/p>\n
The distribution of packaged rice was carried out in several locations in Jakarta and surrounding areas, including Tanah Abang, Duren Sawit, Cengkareng, Depok, Citayam and South Tangerang.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the distribution of basic food packages was carried out with the Rukun Tetangga (RT) administrators in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Citayam and Beji Depok.<\/p>\n
“This action aims to ease the burden on society due to the Covid 19 pandemic, especially small communities and informal workers whose livelihoods and income have been affected,” said Dewi Astari in a written broadcast on Friday (3\/4\/2020).<\/p>\n
“Because they all depend on wages and daily income,” he explained.<\/p>\n
Not only that, YIIM and PT Insight Investment Management are trying to contribute to maintaining microeconomic resilience, although on a limited scale.<\/p>\n
He said he bought the packaged rice from simple small rice stalls with online motorcycle taxi services.<\/p>\n
Next, the packaged rice is distributed to small communities such as parking attendants, buskers and informal workers such as street vendors.<\/p>\n
Apart from that, packaged rice is also distributed to homeless people and scavengers.<\/p>\n
“Even though we don’t provide much, we believe we can help microeconomic resilience, because shopping at small stalls, ordering food and delivering food via online motorcycle taxis indirectly stimulates the economy,” said Dewi Astari.<\/p>\n
“Through this activity, we hope that more people will care about the current conditions,” he concluded.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Representative of PT Insight Investment Management Suluh T Rahardjo hopes that the Covid 19 pandemic will end soon and the economy will recover soon.<\/p>\n
“Hopefully what we are doing can inspire many people to stimulate the economy even though the corona virus is still endemic,” said Suluh T Rahardjo. “We have to work together,” he said hopefully.<\/p>\n
