The demand for air conditioning (AC) servicing and cleaning continues to surge as more households and businesses rely on cooling systems, particularly in urban areas. This creates broad practical employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for individuals with the right technical skills.<\/p>\n
To help participants seize these opportunities, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management organized an AC Servicing and Cleaning Entrepreneurship Training on May 20\u201322, 2026. The program was conducted under YIIM’s Masyarakat Terampil dan Berdaya (MATA) initiative.<\/p>\n
Ten participants were selected and divided into five two-person work teams, fostering teamwork, communication, and peer learning throughout the training.<\/p>\n
The curriculum combined theory with extensive hands-on practice. Participants studied AC working principles, key component functions, electrical wiring, and the properties and safe handling of various refrigerants. They also learned to identify, use, and maintain professional diagnostic and service tools.<\/p>\n
In practical sessions, each team practiced component disassembly and reassembly, connecting indoor and outdoor units, copper pipe flaring, refrigerant charging, system vacuuming, and troubleshooting common operational issues.<\/p>\n
Participants also mastered AC cleaning techniques, from setting up protective service covers and using high-pressure jet cleaners to washing indoor and outdoor units and testing airflow and temperature post-service.<\/p>\n
Beyond technical skills, the program emphasized professional ethics, customer service, and entrepreneurship. Participants learned to communicate professionally with clients, provide transparent pricing, maintain clean work environments, and understand basic business management principles to start their own AC service businesses.<\/p>\n
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1: No Poverty, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, empowering participants to achieve financial self-reliance.<\/p>\n
