Currently pursuing a D3 Diploma in Plantation Crop Cultivation at the LPP Polytechnic of Yogyakarta (Politeknik LPP Yogyakarta), this promising young scholar has maintained stellar academic credentials in his third semester, achieving a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.23 in the preceding term.<\/p>\n
Hailing from Medan, North Sumatra, Rizky is the second of four children. His father works diligently as an independent furniture carpenter, while his mother dedicates herself as a homemaker. Rizky grew up on the outskirts of Medan, an area where the majority of residents earn livelihoods as daily informal laborers.<\/p>\n
Accessing Higher Education Through the Inspirasi Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n Upon completing senior high school in 2020, Rizky aspired to enroll in medical school. Although he did not secure admission, he remained undeterred, deferring tertiary enrollment to prepare for the 2021 intake. Conscious of his family's financial constraints, Rizky actively sought full scholarship opportunities. His persistence bore fruit when he discovered the Inspirasi Scholarship announcement at Politeknik LPP Yogyakarta. With his parents' blessing, he applied for the program.<\/p>\n "When I discussed the scholarship at Politeknik LPP Yogyakarta with my parents, they were immensely supportive. Coming from a modest socioeconomic background, securing a scholarship was essential to ease my family's financial strain. My parents rallied behind me with boundless encouragement," Rizky reflected.<\/p>\n Despite initial apprehension given the fierce nationwide competition, Rizky was awarded the full educational scholarship. The gratifying news was received with profound gratitude and joy by his entire household.<\/p>\n While studying in Yogyakarta, Rizky resides at the Rumah Qur'an student dormitory, a residency opportunity recommended by a senior peer. Following competitive entrance evaluations, Rizky was admitted into the two-year residential character-building and Quranic boarding program.<\/p>\n Organizational Leadership and Community Service<\/strong><\/p>\n On campus, Rizky demonstrates dynamic leadership through extracurricular student organizations. He served as Head of the Research and Technology Division within the Academic Department for the 2022\/2023 term, subsequently earning election as Vice Head of the Academic Department. While offered numerous other student leadership positions, Rizky prioritized contributing directly to the campus academic ecosystem.<\/p>\n In addition to campus government, Rizky took part in competitive campus-wide selections for the Task Force on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (Satgas PPKS). Out of the entire student body, Rizky emerged as one of only 14 students appointed to the task force. He is currently undertaking rigorous national certification assessments managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikbudristek RI).<\/p>\n His philanthropic dedication is equally apparent through grassroots social initiatives organized alongside classmates and dormitory peers. They regularly hold Friday Blessings charity drives and host communal iftar gatherings for disadvantaged children. Funding for class-based activities is pooled voluntarily among peers, while dormitory social funds are sourced from surplus collective dues.<\/p>\n Exemplary Research: From National Laurels to the G20 Summit<\/strong><\/p>\n Rizky's dedication to scientific research began during high school. Inspired by seeing senior students celebrated during school assemblies for winning science competitions, Rizky resolved to master scientific methodology.<\/p>\n "Initially, I just wanted to explore new frontiers. Seeing seniors called up during the morning flag ceremony motivated me to pursue science. I started learning research methodologies independently, gathering reference literature, and consulting with past champions. The process was exhilarating; whenever experiments failed, I felt compelled to iterate and troubleshoot until I succeeded. Achieving a breakthrough was thrilling and inspired me to continue researching," Rizky shared passionately.<\/p>\n His dedication yielded early acclaim. In high school, Rizky and his research team won several provincial and national prizes for their bio-termiticide (a natural eco-friendly pest control agent) and Light Fire Extinguisher Fluid (CAPAR). However, material constraints initially limited the research to the prototype phase.<\/p>\n Upon entering higher education, Rizky reignited his scientific pursuits. He and his academic team participated in the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Fatwa Conference, presenting a research analysis on the therapeutic potential of medical cannabis. Their rigorous paper was awarded First Place (Terbaik I).<\/p>\n Rizky then collaborated with two high school alums to submit scientific papers for the prestigious international G20 Summit in Bali. They proposed two eco-inventions: a sustainable fire extinguishing liquid synthesized from recycled baby diapers and avocado peel extracts (CAPAR DIAPERS AVOCADO) alongside avocado seed-based sustainable battery cells (AVSEED Battery). Concurrently, Rizky submitted a proposal for the Student Innovation Challenge (SIC) research grant organized by Politeknik LPP.<\/p>\n Both initiatives triumphed: the SIC grant jury selected his proposal for commercial research funding, while his collaborative team was selected to present the CAPAR innovation at the G20 Summit in Bali.<\/p>\n Today, the CAPAR fire extinguisher formulation has advanced to operational field trials, including a live fire drill simulation at a local correctional facility (LAPAS). Under the SIC initiative, the product has commenced pilot marketing while preparing intellectual property (HAKI) patent filings.<\/p>\n Looking toward life post-graduation, Rizky aspires to join the Research and Development (R&D) department of an agricultural corporation, while planning to advance to an undergraduate degree (S1) on a continuation scholarship.<\/p>\n Expressing deep gratitude to YIIM, INSIGHT, and DAPENBUN, Rizky concluded: "My heartfelt thanks go to the benevolent donors who made my college education possible.
