FAJAR ROBBI (22 years old), commonly known as Fajar, is one of the recipients of the educational scholarship program provided by PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) in collaboration with the Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun Foundation (YIIM) in 2019.<\/p>\n
Fajar is currently in his seventh semester at Universitas Bahaudin Mudhary (UNIBA) Madura, majoring in Management at the Faculty of Economics. His Grade Point Average (GPA) in the previous semester was 3.60.<\/p>\n
Fajar is the youngest of two siblings. Both of his parents are currently farmers. Fajar and his family live in Pakandangan Tengah, Sumenep.<\/p>\n
The Beginning of His Journey in Higher Education<\/p>\n
Fajar started studying at UNIBA Madura after graduating from school and completing a year of service at an Islamic boarding school (pesantren). Fajar and his friends were recommended by the head of the pesantren to pursue higher education at UNIBA Madura. Eventually, Fajar decided to register at UNIBA Madura through the written test route.<\/p>\n
When Fajar decided to attend university, his parents were very supportive. Fajar wanted to focus on education because many people in his community chose to work or get married instead. Fajar, however, wanted to continue his education at the university level.<\/p>\n
During registration, Fajar chose the Management major. He chose this major because of the career opportunities available after graduation.<\/p>\n
“Because there are more job opportunities, such as in finance and other fields. Also, during high school, economics was a subject I enjoyed.”<\/em><\/p>\n When Fajar was selected to receive the scholarship, his parents were very happy and proud of him. This scholarship helped ease the financial burden on his parents.<\/p>\n During his studies, Fajar lives at an Islamic boarding school because it is relatively close to campus. From Monday to Friday, he attends lectures. On Saturdays, he teaches at the pesantren, where he teaches two subjects: Indonesian History and Muthola’ah. He receives Rp150,000 per month for this teaching work.<\/p>\n Fajar’s Activeness During His Studies<\/p>\n Throughout his higher education, Fajar has been actively involved in various organizations. Within the campus, he first joined the English Speaking Club (ESC) in 2021\/2022. He then became a member of the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Pramuka (Scout Unit) in 2021\/2022, and is currently entrusted to lead the UKM Pramuka as Chair of the Dewan Racana. Racana is an organizational unit for the Pandega scout level. For external activities, Fajar joined a scouting organization called Dewan Kerja Cabang. Fajar is also active in several social activities with UKM Pramuka, such as sharing takjil during Ramadan and fundraising for natural disaster victims.<\/p>\n In addition to organizational activities, Fajar is also active in committee work, including serving as treasurer for a financial management seminar organized by YIIM and PT INSIGHT.<\/p>\n Not only that, Fajar is a highly accomplished student. He has won several competitions, including 3rd place in a scientific writing competition at the campus level in 2019 and 1st place in an English Vlog competition at the Madura regional level in 2020. Additionally, at the beginning of his studies, Fajar was selected as one of the Best Participants in the Campus Orientation Program (PKKMB) in 2019.<\/p>\n Currently, Fajar is undertaking a three-month internship at Madura United in the finance department. This internship program is organized by Madura United in collaboration with YIIM. Fajar feels that he has gained many benefits from this internship. He has learned about preparing financial reports, paying income tax (PPh), and value-added tax (PPn). Fajar shared his feelings about the opportunity to intern at Madura United:<\/p>\n “I am very happy, because I can truly pursue work in my field.”<\/em><\/p>\n Fajar’s hope for the future is that after graduation, he can continue his studies to a master’s degree. To avoid burdening his parents, Fajar plans to study while working. He hopes that all the career plans and desires he has set for the future can be achieved.<\/p>\n Fajar also shared his hopes for YIIM and INSIGHT:<\/p>\n “I hope this program can continue in the coming years.
