The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with Insight Investments Management implemented the Skilled and Empowered Communities (MATA) program through food entrepreneurship training which was held on 6-8 May 2026. A total of 18 selected participants gathered to explore the culinary business ecosystem, from kitchen processes to marketing strategies.<\/p>\n
During the three days of implementation, this training not only focuses on the technical aspects of product manufacturing, but also builds a solid business foundation for the participants. On the production side, participants were directly involved in practicing making risol with various flavor variants adapted to current market trends. These skills are then strengthened by providing in-depth food costing material, where participants are taught how to calculate the cost of production and determine selling prices precisely to ensure business sustainability and healthy profits.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, this training extends to managerial aspects through material on entrepreneurship and marketing strategies. The participants were equipped with an understanding of the entrepreneur’s mentality and creative ways to market products in the digital era. It is hoped that the combination of the ability to produce quality food and an effective marketing strategy will be the main capital for the 18 participants to immediately start or develop their business units independently amidst the intense competition in the culinary industry.<\/p>\n
The success of this training is projected to be a catalyst for the emergence of new micro business units capable of supporting the family economy. The main focus of this program is to ensure that each participant has complete instruments, from mastering food costing techniques to mapping target markets, so that they become competitive business actors. The high enthusiasm shown by all participants during the activity reflects new optimism for local economic growth which starts from empowering practical skills.<\/p>\n
The Skilled and Empowered Communities Program is a community development initiative dedicated to increasing economic capacity through practical skills training and sustainable micro-enterprise assistance.<\/p>\n
This program is also in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 1 about ending poverty, number 8 about decent work and economic growth, and number 10 about reducing inequality. This program is a manifestation of YIIM and Insight Investments Managements’ commitment through the distribution of social funds that can have a positive socio-economic impact on society.<\/p>\n
