The Indonesia Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) supported by PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (Insight IM) is organizing a Skilled and Empowered Communities (MATA) Cooking Entrepreneurship Training program for the community. Cooking skills have promising opportunities and economic potential for society, especially small communities in urban and rural areas. The Indonesian people’s high interest in food can be a promising economic prospect for creative business actors.<\/p>\n
Currently, culinary businesses increasingly promise many benefits and offer great opportunities. Supported by increasingly sophisticated technology, managing a culinary business is getting easier, especially for marketing matters. As the rise of home-cooking-based Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the frozen food business idea has become highly sought after by business people. The market share of the frozen food industry is very large.<\/p>\n
One of the great spirits of the YIIM Cooking Training program is to provide training participants with the skills to make dishes that are easy to make and competitive in the market. Through theoretical training and direct practice(hands on) <\/em>processing raw materials.<\/em> In this training, Umaroch was the main trainer and Ely Widyawati was the assistant trainer, <\/em>both of whom were mentored by YIIM cooking training alumni who already have businesses and are active in the culinary field.<\/p>\n On Tuesday 29 April 2025, a cooking training event was held at the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation Office located at Jalan Grand Wijaya Center Blok F\/62B, RT.6\/RW.1, Pulo Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta City, Special Capital Region of Jakarta, which was held from 09.00 WIB to 15.00 WIB. The total number of participants who attended the training was 10 people out of the 12 selected participants. Training participants with backgrounds from underprivileged communities and victims of layoffs.<\/p>\n The activity began with an opening speech from Isnaeni Setiawan as the Coordinator of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), saying “In accordance with our tagline Investments to Social Impact, INSIGHT IM invites the public to invest while having a social impact on society. Insight IM is an investment and mutual fund sales company that also provides opportunities for investors to invest and share goodness through our CSR program. INSIGHT IM together with YIIM consistently hold CSR activities so that they can have a real impact on community independence, one of which is through training “Hopefully the training provided can provide benefits for the participants who attend”<\/em><\/p>\n Continuing to give a speech by Maria Dewi Yanti as Secretary and representative of the YIIM management, said, “YIIM has been established for 10 years and one of our superior programs is social entrepreneurship training with various skills, one of which is cooking skills. YIIM is also supported by our partner Insight IM in organizing these programs. We hope that the participants can make good use of this training to gain knowledge, experience and apply it by becoming independent entrepreneurs so that the results of the training can also help the participants’ families.”<\/em><\/p>\n After the opening remarks, the trainer continued with providing training materials, starting from selecting basic ingredients, introducing basic menu techniques, packaging techniques for business products, and also teaching the calculation of the cost of goods sold (HPP) for each cooking recipe.<\/p>\n After providing the material, direct cooking practice continued (hands on), <\/em>Training participants were divided into four groups. The trainer’s first session taught how to make a quail egg ekado menu. The second session taught the meatball tofu menu with various toppings. Each menu taught, starting from the introduction of raw materials to processing techniques, is directed by the trainer and the assistant trainer. During the event, participants were very interactive and also asked many questions directly to the trainer team. Apart from that, participants are also given the opportunity to practice working on all training menus. The final session continued with discussions and questions and answers and also the presentation of certificates to all participants.<\/p>\n Mike Rhoma Prianthyi, one of the training participants, said, “Thank you to YIIM and Insight IM for providing cooking skills training to us. We hope that this training can provide knowledge in the frozen food business sector and inspire all participants present to be enthusiastic about entrepreneurship.”<\/em><\/p>\n This program is also in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 1 about ending poverty, number 8 about decent work and economic growth, and number 10 about reducing inequality. This program is a manifestation of YIIM and Insight IM’s commitment through the distribution of social funds that can have a positive socio-economic impact on society.<\/p>\n YIIM is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people from various circles, founded by social and humanitarian activists.
