In order to ensure that alumni of entrepreneurship training who had previously attended entrepreneurship classes organized by the Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and PT. Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) can run their businesses properly, YIIM again held a limited financial planning training with the theme \u201cThe Importance of Financial Planning and Cash Flow for Small Businesses\u201d on July 25, 2021, held online.<\/p>\n
In the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, the country’s economy has experienced many shocks in various places. One way to help stabilize the country’s economy is by realizing economic independence for communities at the micro level. This was stated by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia through its website at https:\/\/www.djkn.kemenkeu.go.id\/artikel\/baca\/13317\/UMKM-Bangkit-Ekonomi-Indonesia-Terungkit.html<\/p>\n
This is certainly one of the ways YIIM and INSIGHT take part in helping spread inspiration to small business owners. Since 2018, YIIM has conducted entrepreneurship training for many segments of society. The types of training provided include coffee barista, barber, AC washing and service, makeup artistry, culinary arts, and clothing screen printing. Alumni from these various types of training have spread across many regions.<\/p>\n
In helping improve the quality of these businesses, YIIM this time organized financial planning training, with a focus on cash flow for small businesses.<\/p>\n
YIIM collaborated with Novlyanti Rizkita (Vivi), an independent financial planner who works at Maybank Indonesia as a Business Banking Relationship Manager. In the training, Vivi explained that one of her jobs at the bank is providing loan assistance to SMEs, and having neat financial records is one of the important aspects.<\/p>\n
After explaining the importance of financial planning, Vivi invited participants to understand three basic principles of MSME financial management, namely 1) Protecting Assets, 2) Increasing Assets, and 3) Distributing Assets.<\/p>\n
In practicing these principles, Vivi then shared knowledge on preparing profit and loss statements, which are useful to ensure that every business has good financial records.<\/p>\n
The next step concerned cash flow statements that focus on balance sheet equilibrium. This was done to ensure that cash coming in and going out of a business can be distributed properly.<\/p>\n
For more than 2 hours, the training participants also talked about their businesses and their progress in using digital marketing. Among the participants who asked questions were Sisca and Ezra (barista alumni), Wanmayetti and Chotimah (baking alumni), as well as Gusti Darmawan (barber\/haircut alumni).<\/p>\n
Through this training, we hope to be one step closer to realizing Sustainable Development Goal number 1, namely No Poverty. Improving the quality of social entrepreneurs one by one is a step that, although slow, is certain, towards the realization of this goal.<\/p>\n
