Demonstrating the enduring social commitment of entrepreneurship alumni, on June 28, 2021, Alpijar Ramadhani (19), a graduate of the barista training by Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), organized an online barista training session for communities impacted by Covid-19.<\/p>\n
Alpijar is among the notable success stories of YIIM’s coffee entrepreneurship initiative. He completed the comprehensive training pathway, including technical workshops, hands-on apprenticeship, and intensive incubation over approximately three months in early 2021.<\/p>\n
Equipped with skills and mentorship from YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management, Alpijar established his own coffee shop named “Depan Roemah Coffee.” Operating from his shop, the 19-year-old entrepreneur organized the virtual session to share his expertise with the wider public.<\/p>\n
Held via the Zoom application, the training gathered 15 participants from diverse backgrounds, including homemakers, students, and community members aspiring to master coffee-making skills.<\/p>\n
Amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic to public health and livelihoods, this workshop sought to inspire entrepreneurial resilience and deliver practical insights into social enterprise within the coffee sector.<\/p>\n
As highlighted by Adam Barone (2020), social enterprises do not focus solely on generating business profit, but also on maximizing social benefits for society. This training aimed to ignite entrepreneurial motivation, creating tangible public value through Alpijar’s enterprise.<\/p>\n
Spanning over 1.5 hours from 14:15 to 15:50 WIB, Alpijar presented comprehensive material covering barista history, professional coffee-processing equipment, various brewing methods, and foundational strategies for launching a small-scale coffee business.<\/p>\n
The session was delivered through an interactive Q&A dynamic between the host and Alpijar as instructor, creating a warm, engaging learning environment that prompted lively exchanges from participants.<\/p>\n
Attendees participated enthusiastically; Kurnia Putra inquired about achieving balanced coffee compositions, while Fikri asked about operational cash-flow management in running a coffee startup.<\/p>\n
Through this workshop, participants gained valuable, hands-on knowledge applicable to daily routines and foundational guidance before establishing independent coffee ventures.<\/p>\n
