Welcoming the blessed holy month of Ramadan, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), delivered worship equipment and staple food supplies to orphaned and underprivileged students (santri) and religious instructors at the Al-Mizan Islamic Boarding School on Saturday, May 1, 2021. The pesantren is located on Jalan Raya Timur No. 456, Cibolerang, Jatiwangi, Loji, Majalengka Regency, West Java Province.<\/p>\n
Valued at IDR 5,000,000 (five million rupiah), the aid package included Islamic worship essentials\u2014copies of the Holy Qur’an, Iqro learning books, prayer caps (peci), sarongs, women’s prayer robes (mukena), and prayer rugs (sajadah)\u2014along with nutritious food staples consisting of rice, eggs, instant noodles, Milo milk, canned sardines, cooking oil, sugar, tea, and rice vermicelli to support resident santri and teachers.<\/p>\n
Ponpes Al-Mizan Jatiwangi spans four hectares under the leadership of K.H. Maman Imanulhaq Faqih, who also serves as a Member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). The boarding school originally developed from Ath-Thoyibah, a grassroots Quranic learning center for children (TKA-TPA).<\/p>\n
In 1999, the institution expanded into a residential boarding school with an initial cohort of 50 resident students. Today, Al-Mizan educates 1,245 students, 150 of whom reside on campus, including 15 fully sponsored orphaned and underprivileged youths.<\/p>\n
The Covid-19 pandemic severely challenged traditional religious educational institutions. While on-campus learning continued under health protocols, economic hardships necessitated external solidarity. This relief program corresponds directly with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2: Zero Hunger.<\/p>\n
The supplies were delivered by YIIM Board Chairman Chrisbiantoro, accompanied by YIIM Program Manager Achmad Fanani Rosyidi, directly to the boarding school’s leader and Chairman of the Al-Mizan Foundation Board of Trustees, K.H. Maman Imanulhaq Faqih.<\/p>\n

YIIM and INSIGHT focus on community economic empowerment, and we look forward to exchanging positive ideas with Al-Mizan to strengthen grassroots resilience.”<\/p>\n
The visit sparked strong enthusiasm among students to explore social entrepreneurship skills nurtured by YIIM and INSIGHT, such as barista training, barbering, AC maintenance, makeup artistry, and culinary arts.<\/p>\n
