On 29-31 May 2023, the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT)) again carried out a series of collaborations with the Pondok Bambu Class 1 State Detention Center (Rutan) to organize a cooking social entrepreneurship training program (Frozen Food \/ Frozen Food<\/em>)<\/em> for the inmates of the Pondok Rutan Bamboo.<\/p>\n

This activity is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Number 1 concerning fighting poverty, Number 8 concerning decent work and economic growth, and Number 17 concerning partnerships to achieve the goals.<\/p>\n

The training was carried out in the Pondok Bambu Class 1 Detention Center which is located at Jalan Pahlawan Revolution No. 38, RT 04\/RW 03, Pondok Bambu, Kec. Duren Sawit, East Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta. The training agenda is held for half a day, namely from 09.00 WIB to 12.00 WIB.<\/p>\n

This training activity began with opening remarks from Mr. Achmad Fanani Rosyidi as YIIM representative. He said, “<\/em>This cooking social entrepreneurship training program (Frozen Food<\/em>) is a Community Empowerment Program for the inmates of the Pondok Bambu Detention Center which is supported by PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT)) in collaboration with the Pondok Bambu Class 1 State Detention Center (Rutan). This training is to provide skills and benefits for the inmates, starting from hard skills training to coaching. soft skills such as<\/em>Entrepreneurship Management (MSME Financial Bookkeeping and Marketing Strategy) and financial literacy”. <\/em><\/p>\n

A total of 15 participants from Rutan inmates (women inmates) took part in social entrepreneurship training in cooking (Frozen Food<\/em>) <\/em>for three days. Training participants are taught how to make various Frozen Food<\/em> dishes. The training material taught is the practice of making chicken nugget menus, chicken dimsum<\/em>, meatball tofu, chicken egg roll<\/em> as well as Frozen Food<\/em> business calculations and how to package food products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the cooking social entrepreneurship training (Frozen Food<\/em>)<\/em> the participants were divided into five groups, each group consisting of three participants. Each participant receives a training module containing cooking recipes and how to make the dishes.<\/p>\n

For each training recipe taught, the teacher explains the ingredients used to make frozen food. By watching the module and listening to instructions from the instructor, the participants practice directly how to process ingredients, starting from combining dry ingredients such as wheat flour, pepper, salt with wet ingredients such as chicken, after which they continue with how to form the food. Like the chicken dimsum<\/em> menu, participants were taught how to fill the dimsum<\/em> shell with dough that had been made by each group. After the cooking process, the participants were taught how to package for the frozen food<\/em> food business.<\/em> Each participant had the direct opportunity to practice the training recipe under the direct supervision of the trainers.<\/p>\n

During the training participants are given the opportunity to ask questions and answers to the instructor. The obstacle during training where concentration is less than optimal is that there are other obligations that must be fulfilled at the same time. Another obstacle is the limited time for training.<\/p>\n

The hope of this training is that the participants can contribute to creating a varied food menu for the inmates. After the sentence period, participants can return to society and can open a business with the knowledge and assistance from YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT).<\/p>\n

The instructors for the cooking social entrepreneurship training (Frozen Food<\/em>)<\/em> are Mrs. Wanmayetty and Mrs. Susilawati Muryani Berlian, both of whom are alumni of the cooking training held by YIIM and both of them have also succeeded in building independent businesses in the micro and small scale culinary sector.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Susilawati is an alumni training participant with a background as a resident of the Class I Correctional Center (BAPAS Class I) in Central Jakarta. The cooking knowledge that Mrs. Wanmayetty and Mrs. Susiliawati have as a result of training at YIIM is supported by PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) and one of its partners is Titan Baking Bakery Cikajang, South Jakarta. This knowledge was shared through cooking classes with residents assisted by the Pondok Bambu Detention Center.<\/p>\n

On the third day, at the end of the series of cooking training activities, the participants received training certificates which were handed over directly by Dewi Sondari, BC.I.P., S.An, as the Head of Pondak Bambu Class 1 Detention Center and Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan as the CSR Coordinator of PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT).<\/p>\n

As a non-profit organization, YIIM is very open to all parties who wish to support or make donations in any form. Because every donation given to YIIM will be distributed directly to the rightful beneficiaries.<\/p>\n
