On Thursday, November 2, 2023, located at Kebun Gedeh Estate, Cianjur, the Foundation for Inspiring Indonesia\u2019s Development (YIIM), alongside PT Insight Investments Management (PT IIM) and the Plantation Pension Fund (Dana Pensiun Perkebunan – DAPENBUN), hosted the Official Inauguration of the Newly Built Tunas Karya Kindergarten Facility on Jalan Sukamulya, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, West Java. The event reaffirmed the collective commitment of all stakeholders to fulfilling social and humanitarian responsibilities toward communities and environment in the wake of the Cianjur earthquake disaster.<\/p>\n
The reconstruction of the kindergarten stands as an embodiment of PT IIM’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL\/CSR) conducted in close coordination with DAPENBUN and PT Nusantara Niaga Agro (PT NNA) for the plantation communities of Kebun Gedeh following the catastrophic seismic disaster on November 21, 2022. Groundbreaking and construction works officially commenced in June 2023.<\/p>\n
The inauguration was attended by prominent institutional leadership figures, including SEVP of Asset Management at PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII Mr. Dian Hadiana Arief, Operational Director of DAPENBUN Mr. Hudi Prihmono, President Director of PT NNA Mr. Ki Agus Riki Ridwan Rahman, CSR Coordinator of PT Insight Investments Management Mr. Isnaeni Setiawan, Secretary of YIIM Mr. Imam Fadchurrodzi, Kebun Gedeh Estate Manager Mr. Mochamad Mulyadi, alongside the educators and pupils of Tunas Karya Kindergarten.<\/p>\n
The ceremony commenced with delightful creative dance performances presented by the kindergarten pupils, followed by congratulatory addresses delivered by leadership representatives from PTPN VIII, DAPENBUN, PT NNA, PT IIM, and YIIM.<\/p>\n
In his address, Operational Director of DAPENBUN Mr. Hudi Prihmono voiced heartfelt gratitude: “Alhamdulillah, following four months of dedicated construction, we gather today to inaugurate this new Tunas Karya Kindergarten building and restore early childhood education for the community.”<\/p>\n
Prior to relocation and rebuilding, the previous kindergarten structure sustained severe earthquake devastation, rendering it completely unsafe and hazardous for early-childhood learning. Through the collective intervention delivered by YIIM, PT IIM, and DAPENBUN, a brand-new permanent early-childhood education facility equipped with PLN electrical connectivity has been completed. The new structure encompasses: 2 (two) modular classrooms divided by a folding wooden partition that converts into an assembly hall, 1 (one) administrative teachers\u2019 room, 1 (one) library room, 1 (one) kitchen pantry, and 2 (two) clean sanitation\/toilet facilities.<\/p>\n
This education recovery initiative directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It is hoped that the newly inaugurated school building ensures teaching and learning activities for children and teachers resume in an atmosphere of complete safety, comfort, and dignity.<\/p>\n
