Digital Transaction Business Support Advances Economic Inclusion for Entrepreneur With Disability
Living-cost assistance and start-up capital enabled a man with a physical disability to operate a mobile-credit and online-transaction agency serving daily customers.

On 27 July 2023, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), supported by PT Insight Investments Management, provided livelihood assistance to A. Yandi Dhimaz Permana Putra, known as Putra, a 31-year-old person with a physical disability from a low-income household.
Putra had lived with the effects of polio since the age of two and moved using both hands. Without permanent employment, he spent his days around Masjid Al-Bina in the Gelora Bung Karno complex in Central Jakarta, arranging worshippers’ footwear and receiving voluntary tips.
His income had to cover rent on Jalan Ciledug Raya in Ulujami, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, daily food and drink, transport between his room and the mosque, and support for his mother in their home village.
YIIM and Insight provided living-cost support and capital for a mobile-credit and online-transaction agency. With the assistance, Putra established Putra Cell, promoting its services through WhatsApp and directly around his accommodation and Masjid Al-Bina. The business began serving approximately six to seven transactions per day.
Isnaeni Setiawan, CSR Coordinator at Insight, presented the assistance. He explained that Insight’s investment-to-social-impact approach connects investment activity with tangible community benefits and said the partnership with YIIM was intended to strengthen economic independence.
Putra thanked YIIM and Insight, saying the support enabled him to become more independent and help his family. He also said it strengthened his motivation to serve others despite his physical limitations and hoped similar assistance could reach other disadvantaged people with disabilities.
The initiative demonstrates inclusive economic empowerment through a business model adapted to the participant’s circumstances. It contributes to SDG 1: No Poverty and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
Salam Inspirasi!
