Gempita Ramadan Shares Meals and Services in Pinang Ranti
Waste-picker families received 100 iftar meals while eight residents received free haircuts through a partnership connecting food support and alumni skills.

On 25 March 2024, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management collaborated with Berbagi Sarapan to hold a GEMPITA Ramadan activity for the waste-picker community in Pinang Ranti.
The program formed part of a broader Ramadan series that included iftar meals, assistance for orphans, mosque air-conditioning cleaning, and free haircuts.
At Pinang Ranti, the partners distributed 100 food packages and provided free haircuts to eight residents. The services were designed both to ease immediate needs during Ramadan and to create a warm sense of inclusion for community members.
The activity was more than a material distribution. By bringing together a nonprofit organization, an investment company, a food-sharing community, and local residents, it sought to encourage solidarity and inspire people to help one another.
YIIM and Insight also connected the initiative with their wider commitment to local empowerment and economic potential. Community-based programs can create opportunities for skills, volunteering, and cooperation that support longer-term well-being alongside direct humanitarian assistance.
The initiative contributes to SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Through GEMPITA Ramadan, the partners hoped acts of care delivered during the fasting month would become seeds for larger and more sustainable community action.
Salam Inspirasi!
