YIIM alumni iftar and assistance for orphaned children in Central Jakarta

Through the Gerakan Menginspirasi untuk Pemberdayaan dan Transformasi Asa Ramadan program, known as GEMPITA Ramadan, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management organized humanitarian and religious assistance including iftar meals, support for orphans, mosque air-conditioning services, and free haircuts.

On Wednesday, 27 March 2024, YIIM and Insight held an iftar gathering for YIIM alumni and provided assistance to orphans at Sampan Bujana Sentra on Jalan Teuku Cik Ditiro II No. 1, Gondangdia, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The event brought together YIIM board members, trustees, alumni, donors, and partners. Chrisbiantoro, Chair of YIIM, and Riccana Rosita, Treasurer, represented the Executive Board. Trustees Irfan Melayu, Mery T. P. Hutagalung, and Masitoh also attended.

Participating partners included CT ARSA Foundation, Titan Baking, BKMM Kota Bekasi, Jakpreneur South Jakarta, and the South Jakarta Office for Empowerment, Child Protection and Population Control. Alumni represented YIIM and Insight entrepreneurship classes in barista skills, barbering, culinary production, and makeup.

Chrisbiantoro thanked Insight as YIIM’s principal partner and recognized other organizations that continued supporting humanitarian programs. He explained that the Ramadan initiative was held annually to share with communities and expressed hope that YIIM would continue spreading benefit and inspiration.

Board and trustee representatives then presented financial assistance to 12 children from Putra Setia Orphanage on Jalan Kramat Sentiong, Senen, Central Jakarta. The children also received dolls donated by BKMM Kota Bekasi.

On the same day, YIIM and Insight provided the orphanage with a staple-food package containing rice, cooking oil, milk, eggs, cooking seasonings, and snacks.

The gathering created space for alumni to strengthen relationships, exchange stories about achievements and challenges, and offer recommendations for future YIIM programs. The initiative contributes to SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Salam Inspirasi!
