Qurban Assistance Improves Food Access in South Kalimantan
YIIM, Insight, and BAZNAS provided one cow to improve access to nutritious meat for low-income and vulnerable residents in Hulu Sungai Tengah.

On 18 June 2024, during Eid al-Adha, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), through its Social, Humanitarian, and Religious program supported by PT Insight Investments Management, donated one cow valued at Rp21,000,000 through Indonesia’s National Zakat Agency, BAZNAS.
The qurban assistance was directed to low-income residents, orphans, and other vulnerable people, particularly those living in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost communities. It also supported the government’s zero-stunting effort by increasing access to nutritious animal protein.
Distribution reached residents of Layuh Village, Batu Benawa District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, South Kalimantan. The meat helped beneficiaries meet food and nutritional needs that might otherwise have been difficult to afford.
BAZNAS explained that qurban has both a religious and socioeconomic role. In addition to fulfilling an act of worship, responsible qurban programs can improve nutrition for eligible recipients and contribute to community empowerment, including support for small livestock farmers.
BAZNAS implemented its 2024 activities under the theme Kurban Berkah BAZNAS. The agency invited individuals, institutions, and companies to collaborate by directing qurban, charitable funds, and corporate social responsibility contributions through an established distribution program.
The assistance formed part of Insight’s corporate social and environmental responsibility commitment and reflected its goal of transforming investments into positive social impact. It also supported YIIM’s mission to inspire constructive action for Indonesia’s development.
The initiative contributes to SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Salam Inspirasi!
