During Ramadan 2025, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management held a GEMPITA Ramadan social activity for residents of the Andara waste-picker community.

Most residents earned their living by collecting recyclable materials and faced limited access to basic facilities. Their daily circumstances made it difficult to meet household needs, and the Ramadan program was intended to share happiness while easing part of that burden.

The event began with a free haircut service, which drew enthusiastic participation from children, teenagers, and adults. Parents accompanied their children and spoke with neighbours while waiting, creating a warm atmosphere of community interaction.

After the haircuts, the YIIM team, assisted by partner Berbagi Sarapan, distributed 50 iftar packages. Distribution was orderly and ensured that residents had food with which to break their fast.

The activity combined a practical personal-care service with direct food assistance. Beyond its immediate benefits, it encouraged solidarity and showed how nonprofit, business, volunteer, and community partners could work together during Ramadan.

The initiative contributes to SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Through GEMPITA Ramadan, YIIM and Insight hoped to strengthen the spirit of sharing and mutual cooperation and inspire more people to participate in social action that provides tangible benefits.
