Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), through its Social, Humanitarian, and Religious program supported by PT Insight Investments Management, provided a borewell and clean-water system for Puring Hamlet, Sah Raja Village, Pante Bidari District, East Aceh Regency.

Clean water is essential to health and environmental sustainability, but access remains difficult in many remote areas. During the dry season, water sources around Puring Hamlet dried up and residents struggled to obtain enough safe water for daily needs.

Construction began on 9 November 2024 and was completed on 17 November 2024. The assistance included a borewell drilled to a depth of 30 meters, a water-storage tank, and a pipeline network to distribute water to the community.

Fifty households directly benefited from the new infrastructure. Before the project, families faced recurring shortages and had difficulty finding clean water when local sources became dry. After completion, residents gained a more dependable supply for household use, including during the dry season.

Community members assumed responsibility for maintaining the well, pump equipment, and electricity supply. This local management arrangement was intended to protect the investment and keep the clean-water service operating sustainably.

The program supported a national priority to strengthen human development because reliable water and adequate sanitation are fundamental determinants of public health. It also demonstrated how collaboration between a nonprofit organization, a responsible investment company, and local residents can address an urgent infrastructure gap.

The initiative contributes to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. YIIM remains open to collaboration that expands the reach of practical programs for underserved communities.
