For Ezra Ollyn, entrepreneurship has never meant relying on a single idea. It has meant staying curious, adapting to new opportunities, and steadily building several sources of income.

Ezra has also explored a partnership model to broaden his market. He joined forces with Nasi Goreng Nanas 79, a café on Jalan Pinang Raya 20 in Pondok Labu, Cilandak, South Jakarta. Under a profit-sharing arrangement, he manages the café’s beverage counter and sells around 15 to 20 cups on a typical day.

The collaboration has given him another route to customers and practical experience in running an outlet. It has also presented a branding challenge, since the partnership venue does not allow him to fully operate under his own business name. Ezra has responded by keeping the Ribelle Coffee brand active through online sales.

Coffee is only one part of Ezra’s entrepreneurial life. He also sells mobile phone credit, offers vegetables through GrabMerchant, helps his mother, and creates content for YouTube. Together, these activities reflect his willingness to experiment and create a more resilient livelihood.

On 23 September 2023, Ezra completed a barista competency assessment administered under Indonesia’s National Professional Certification Agency, known as BNSP, and earned professional certification. The qualification is an important milestone that strengthens his credibility and gives him a firmer foundation for taking his coffee business further.

YIIM’s entrepreneurship training also supported his progress. Ezra said the program helped him understand the steps involved in securing business permits and meeting legal requirements, making the formalization process easier to navigate.

Ezra’s journey shows how continuous learning, partnership, and a willingness to diversify can help a small business move forward. With professional certification, hands-on experience, and an expanding range of ventures, he is building his future one practical step at a time.
