Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), supported by PT Insight Investments Management, renovated the toilets and ablution facilities at Musholla Attarbiatul Islamiyah Garubuek in Jorong Panyalai, Nagari Cupak, Gunung Talang District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra.

Before the project, the prayer facility’s sanitation infrastructure was in poor condition. Walls had faded, floor tiles were broken and covered with moss, surfaces became slippery, and the toilet was incomplete and difficult to use. These conditions created safety and health concerns for worshippers. Limited community funding had delayed repairs, although the work had become particularly urgent before Ramadan.

Renovation took place from 19 February to 11 March 2024 with funding of Rp41,000,000. The work used construction materials including sand, stone, cement, wall and floor tiles, iron, lighting equipment, PVC pipes, taps, coral, and gravel.

Workers repaired and tiled the floors, installed wall tiles, improved the water and plumbing systems, and completed the toilet so it could be used safely. The renovated ablution area provided cleaner, more secure, and more comfortable facilities for the congregation.

Approximately 350 households in the surrounding community benefit from the improvements. Ratnima Yulianti, representing Musholla Attarbiatul Islamiyah Garubuek, thanked YIIM and Insight for responding to the community’s needs. She said residents were happy that the repaired facilities could be used during Ramadan and that the renovation made worship activities more comfortable.

The project formed part of YIIM’s Social, Humanitarian, and Religious program and Insight’s corporate social responsibility commitment. It demonstrated how targeted infrastructure support can improve sanitation, reduce health and safety risks, and strengthen a community facility used by hundreds of families.
