Scholarship Students Lead Ramadan Support for Children in Yogyakarta
Ten scholarship recipients organized meals, essential food, and financial assistance for 30 orphaned and low-income children at Graha Yatim.

On Saturday, 23 March 2024, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), supported by PT Insight Investments Management, collaborated with LPP Polytechnic Yogyakarta to organize GEMPITA Ramadan assistance for children at Graha Yatim Orphanage on Jalan Parangtritis No. 178A, Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta.
The assistance comprised 70 portions of takjil and boxed meals for iftar, a staple-food package containing sugar, cooking oil, rice, instant noodles, and snacks, and financial support for 30 orphans and children from low-income families.
The initiative was developed by ten students at LPP Polytechnic who received YIIM and Insight scholarships. Their involvement connected scholarship support with practical leadership in a humanitarian and religious program.
Participants included Oni Apriyanto, Vice Director III for Student Affairs, who joined online; the ten scholarship recipients; members of the campus Islamic Spirituality Student Unit; Chrisbiantoro, Chair of YIIM; and 30 children from the orphanage.
Chrisbiantoro praised the scholarship students for initiating the activity and noted that their Ramadan program complemented the wider initiatives delivered by YIIM and Insight. He hoped the assistance would help meet the children’s needs.
Oni Apriyanto expressed appreciation for the opportunity to work with YIIM and Insight in contributing to society. He also thanked the organizations for providing scholarships to LPP Polytechnic students.
The initiative contributes to SDG 2: Zero Hunger. It formed part of the GEMPITA Ramadan series, which delivered meals, takjil, financial assistance, staple foods, worship equipment, free mosque and orphanage AC services, and free haircuts in Jakarta, Depok, Yogyakarta, and Madura.
Salam Inspirasi!
