Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management collaborated with Universitas Bung Karno to provide computer training for correctional clients and former detainees supervised by the Central Jakarta Class I Correctional Centre.

The program was designed to improve basic computer knowledge and skills so participants could strengthen their employment prospects and economic independence after completing detention. It introduced essential devices and applications while encouraging participants to consider how digital skills could support future work or enterprise.

Training took place on 17 and 18 October 2023 at the Correctional Centre office on Jalan Percetakan Negara VIII No. 54, Rawasari, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta.

The opening included representatives of YIIM and Insight, the Dean of Universitas Bung Karno’s Faculty of Computer Science, and the Head of the Central Jakarta Class I Correctional Centre.

Academic trainers were Alexius Ulan Bani, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science; lecturer Yoga Listi Prambodo; and lecturer Asruddin. Chrisbiantoro, Chair of YIIM, said YIIM and Insight placed a high priority on economic independence and hoped participants would identify computer-based opportunities they could pursue.

Alexius Ulan Bani explained that academic responsibility extends beyond campus classrooms and that motivation to learn can develop through many settings, including computer use.

Bambang Maryanto, Head of the Correctional Centre, officially opened the course. He emphasized that collaboration among government, communities, and relevant institutions strengthens rehabilitation and gives clients better support in starting a new chapter.

Muhammad Isnaeni Setiawan, CSR Coordinator at Insight, said the company was proud to support correctional clients with YIIM and connected the activity to Insight’s principle that managed investments should create positive social impact.

The initiative contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals and forms part of Insight’s social and environmental responsibility commitment.
