On 10 October 2023, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management provided social-enterprise management and financial-literacy training to members of the Bekasi City Mosque Study Group Coordinating Body, BKMM.

The session was designed to strengthen participants’ knowledge of financial management and encourage social entrepreneurship. It concluded a program that had run since August and included practical training in doll sewing, frozen-food production, and cookie making. More than 85 participants from across Bekasi City took part in the series.

Participants reported direct benefits. Nur said the training gave homemakers a productive way to use available time while gaining useful knowledge and skills. Ita explained that she immediately applied what she had learned in the earlier baking course and had already sold seven jars of products. She hoped to develop the business further.

The closing event was attended by the Head of Training Development and Productivity at the Bekasi City Manpower Office. The official welcomed training delivered directly to communities by YIIM and Insight and noted that government needs support from partners to expand skills and improve collective welfare. The official hoped similar programs would continue and reach wider areas and participant groups.

By combining technical production skills with financial literacy and enterprise management, the program helped women move from learning to practical income-generating activity. It also strengthened cooperation among community organizations, government, YIIM, and Insight.

The initiative contributes to SDG 5: Gender Equality and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and forms part of Insight’s social and environmental responsibility commitment.
