Inauguration of the rebuilt Tunas Karya Kindergarten in Cianjur

On Thursday, 2 November 2023, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), PT Insight Investments Management, and Dana Pensiun Perkebunan inaugurated the newly constructed Tunas Karya Kindergarten on Jalan Sukamulya in Kebun Gedeh, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, West Java.

The project responded to the 21 November 2022 Cianjur earthquake, which left the school’s former building severely damaged and unsafe for teaching. Construction began in June 2023 as part of Insight’s social and environmental responsibility program, in collaboration with DAPENBUN and PT Nusantara Niaga Agro for communities around Kebun Gedeh.

The inauguration was attended by Dian Hadiana Arief, SEVP for Asset Management at PTPN VIII; Hudi Prihmono, Operations Director of DAPENBUN; Ki Agus Riki Ridwan Rahman, President Director of PT Nusantara Niaga Agro; Isnaeni Setiawan, CSR Coordinator at Insight; Imam Fadchurrodzi, Secretary of YIIM; Mochamad Mulyadi, Manager of Kebun Gedeh; and the teachers and pupils of Tunas Karya.

Children opened the event with a dance performance, followed by remarks from representatives of PTPN VIII, DAPENBUN, PT Nusantara Niaga Agro, Insight, and YIIM. Hudi Prihmono expressed gratitude that the school could be inaugurated after four months of construction.

The partners handed over one new kindergarten building with a PLN electricity connection. It contains two classrooms separated by a movable wooden partition, allowing the rooms to become a hall when opened, one teachers’ room, one library, one kitchen, and two bathrooms.

The completed facility allows children and teachers to resume learning in a safe, comfortable, and appropriate environment after the earthquake. The collaboration contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Salam Inspirasi!
