On 26 and 27 June 2023, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), supported by PT Insight Investments Management, collaborated with BKMM Kota Bekasi to organize frozen-food social-enterprise training for BKMM members and women from low-income backgrounds.

The program was delivered in two batches. On 26 June, 15 participants learned to prepare chicken cordon bleu and tofu meatballs. On 27 June, another 15 participants prepared chicken egg rolls and dim sum. The 30 women represented BKMM branches across Bekasi, with two representatives from each district.

Training took place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Diah Mandiri Toys factory hall on Jalan Narogong KM 11.5, Bantargebang, Bekasi. Wanmayetti served as lead trainer and Umaroch as assistant trainer.

The opening was attended by Chrisbiantoro, Chair of YIIM; Isnaeni Setiawan, CSR Coordinator at Insight; Siti, a BKMM Kota Bekasi board member; and Masyitoh, a member of YIIM’s Board of Advisors.

Chrisbiantoro encouraged participants to use the training to gain knowledge and experience that could support independence at both individual and community levels. Isnaeni explained that Insight’s Investments to Social Impact approach connected investment with corporate social responsibility programs designed to create tangible benefits.

Siti thanked YIIM and Insight for collaborating with BKMM to strengthen members’ confidence and independence. She noted that the frozen-food course followed an earlier baking program and hoped it would help participants develop sustainable livelihoods.

The activity formed part of a 2023 empowerment series covering baked products, frozen food, sewing, and social-enterprise management. It contributes to SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
