The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investment Management (IIM) are launching culinary Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to boost the people’s economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Secretary of the Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) for Building Dewi Astari, in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday, said that his party was encouraging culinary MSMEs to become alternative businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
YIIM together with PT IIM held an online discussion and inaugurated a book of culinary recipes to advance MSMEs as alternative businesses that have a social impact on the community and alumni assisted by this non-profit institution.
“The background for making this recipe collection book is to inspire people to make culinary businesses an alternative business,” said Dewi.
Dewi emphasized that YIIM has educational programs, empowering underprivileged communities, social humanity and religion, including entrepreneurship training.
DKI Jakarta DPRD member, Dwi Wijayanto Rio Sambodo hopes that stakeholders can synergize with YIIM to support the existence of culinary MSMEs for the people’s economy.
“And the DKI Jakarta DPRD is open and willing to bridge with other policy makers for this culinary MSME empowerment program,” said Dwi.
Meanwhile, Director of PT IIM Ria Meristika Warganda explained that the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on the health and economic sectors globally, with the economy in Indonesia even experiencing a significant decline.
Ria said that MSMEs are one of the components to revive the economy of small communities in Indonesia.
So far, YIIM and PT IIM have created 56 small culinary entrepreneurs in Indonesia through MSME training from 2018 to 2020.
Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
*Inspiration Greetings!*
