The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

The new library building at SDN 01 Curah Takir in Sempurejo, Jember, East Java was officially opened for use, Friday (10/1/2020). This facility to support literacy was built on an area of ​​54 square meters.

This library was built by the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) in the PT Perkebunan Nusantara 12 Jember area. Apart from the library, repairs were also carried out on the roof and floor of the classrooms.

The inauguration was attended by YIIM’s work partners, including the Plantation Pension Fund (Dapenbun), PT Insight Investment Management, representatives of PTPN 12 East Java, village heads, sub-district heads and other muspika officials.

“As a social institution, we have a mission to help those who are less fortunate. Here we want to help elementary school students to open their knowledge horizons through books and libraries,” said the Chair of YIIM, Chrisbiantoro.

Meanwhile, the Head of SDN Curah Takir 01, Supriani expressed his appreciation for the library assistance. “Hopefully our school will have better supporting facilities in the future,” he said.

This social action is a form of YIIM’s commitment to providing constructive inspiration, especially in the field of education. By building a library building and providing facilities and infrastructure, it will help all students and female students open wider knowledge horizons.

This assistance was given to SDN 01 Curah Takir because of its geographical location, which is far from public access, and is a remote area, so pupils and students certainly have difficulty accessing the library.

Previously, in 2019 similar assistance was provided in 14 remote areas in Sumatra, from Aceh to Lampung Province.

Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
