The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.
The Indonesian Mandiri Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) has partnered with Bung Karno University (UBK) (UBK) Jakarta to distribute scholarships to unemployed residents as a form of community service.
Chairman of the Indonesian Mandiri Inspiration Foundation, Chrisbiantoro, said that his party provided scholarships to two unemployed youth, Humam Hasan and Hermansyah, to study at UBK.
“Humam and Herman received scholarships to study at the Faculty of Economics majoring in management,” said Chrisbiantoro in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Chrisbiantoro explained that Humam was registered as a former recidivist and Herman was unemployed. Previously, the two teenagers had participated in an entrepreneurship training program.
After undergoing YIIM entrepreneurship training, Humam and Hasan were selected as scholarship recipients to study at Bung Karno University (UBK) which was funded by YIIM’s social funds with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT).
Chrisbiantoro revealed that YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) have collaborated for the last three years to carry out empowerment programs for economically disadvantaged communities.
The foundation provides entrepreneurship training to former residents of the Correctional Center (Bapas) (Bapas), witnesses and victims protected by the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) (LPSK), the unemployed, workers affected by layoffs, people with disabilities, casual workers and other disadvantaged groups.
“The aim of this training is to empower the community’s economy and provide economic competitiveness in small communities,” said Chrisbiantoro.
The training provided includes coffee barista, hair shaving, make-up, culinary, AC cleaning service, clothing screen printing, and urban farming.
The training provision is in line with the sustainable development goals (SDGs) launched by the Indonesian government and the United Nations (UN) since 2015.
The SDGs targets are reducing poverty, ending hunger, improving the quality of education and health and strengthening state institutions.
Apart from that, YIIM also signed a memorandum of understanding with UBK valid for four years to distribute scholarships to people who are less fortunate but have a high level of will and hard work.
Meanwhile, UBK Chancellor Didik Suhariyanto’s collaboration with YIIM is a manifestation of the Tridharma of Higher Education and hopes that the entire UBK community, as well as scholarship recipients, will be more productive in serving society.
The UBK campus, which was founded in 1999, has the distinction of bearing the name of the Proclaimer and first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno, also known as Bung Karno.

Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
*Inspiration Greetings!*
