The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

More than 1,000 live medicinal or pharmacy plants and vegetables were planted along the Ciliwung river basin (DAS) in RT 03 and RT 04, RW 11 Kampung Melayu Kecil 1 Dalam, Bukit Duri, South Jakarta, Sunday (24/11).

This program is an initiation of the Indonesia Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) and Insight Investment Management. YIIM Chairman Chrisbiantoro said that the main aim of this activity was to reforest the Ciliwung watershed.

“The results will be for the residents, the entire community will own this,” Chrisbiantoro told reporters.

He added that local residents are allowed to reproduce the seeds of these plants.

“If you want to reproduce it later, if you want to plant each seed, please go ahead. The point is, we will manage this together,” he said.

Some types of plants given include eggplant, chili, turmeric, galangal, grass jelly, aloe vera and citronella.

“This program is a continuation of the reforestation of the Citarum watershed, planting 500 avocado trees in April 2019 in the Citarum watershed, Bandung,” said Chrisbiantoro.

“This is also the second environmental program after cleaning coral reefs on Tunda Island last October,” he added. [cob]

Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
