GEMPITA Ramadan Brings Iftar Meals and Free Haircuts to Andara Community
Waste picker community members in Andara received 50 iftar packages and free haircut services through a collaborative Ramadan initiative by YIIM, Insight, and Berbagi Sarapan.
During the holy month of Ramadan 2025, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management organized a GEMPITA Ramadan community outreach for residents in Kampung Pemulung Andara.
Most residents in the area work in the informal waste collection sector and face severe socioeconomic constraints. The program was organized to bring festive warmth and alleviate daily burdens during the fasting month.
The event kicked off with free haircutting services provided to children, youth, and adults, followed by the orderly distribution of 50 nutritious iftar meal boxes in partnership with Berbagi Sarapan.
This combined personal grooming service and direct food aid reinforced community solidarity and social inclusion for informal workers.
This initiative contributes to SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
