Severe flooding across Greater Jakarta in early 2020 displaced thousands of families and disrupted access to staple foods, safe drinking water, and essential child care. Vulnerable groups, particularly infants and toddlers, required immediate intervention to mitigate the risk of waterborne illnesses and nutritional decline.

In rapid response to the humanitarian crisis, the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun / YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management, rolled out the Emergency Flood Relief & Toddler Aid Action commencing Monday, 6 January 2020.

YIIM emergency volunteer teams deployed directly to evacuation shelters across South and East Jakarta to distribute hundreds of essential relief packages. Targeted toddler aid included infant milk formula, diapers, nutritious baby biscuits, warming oils, and baby porridge. Family packages comprised rice, cooking oil, instant meals, blankets, clean clothing, and bottled mineral water.

Through this rapid disaster relief initiative, YIIM and Insight aimed to ease the burdens of displaced families, safeguard child nutrition during emergencies, and support swift community recovery.

This program supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Inspiration Greetings!
