The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) supported by Insight Investments Management held YIIM Webinar Series 2 on March 10 2026 with the theme “Safe & Professional Career: Understanding Rights and Risks”. This webinar was attended by 34 participants, dominated by students and fresh graduates who are preparing to enter the world of work.

On this occasion, Irfan Melayu, Chairman of YIIM, was present as a resource person who shared insights regarding the importance of legal literacy in the world of work. In his presentation, Irfan explained that understanding the law is not only limited to knowing the rules or articles, but also understanding the relationship between workers, companies, and the regulations that govern both.

He emphasized the importance for prospective workers to understand their rights and obligations in employment relationships, including recognizing various employment statuses such as contracts, probationary periods, and permanent workers. Apart from that, Irfan also reminded the importance of reading and understanding the contents of the employment contract before signing it, so that workers can protect themselves professionally from the start of their career.

Irfan also highlighted the legal risks in digital activities, especially for the younger generation who are active on social media or work freelance. Without a written agreement, the process of proving rights and obligations can become more difficult if a dispute arises at a later date.

This activity is also equipped with interactive discussion and question and answer sessions. The participants actively asked various questions about the challenges often faced by students and fresh graduates when entering the world of work, from understanding work contracts to legal risks in digital activities.

Through this activity, YIIM hopes that the younger generation can have a better understanding of the legal aspects of the world of work, so they can build a career more safely, professionally and responsibly.
