Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 (No Poverty) and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) consistently contribute to empowering communities in need through social entrepreneurship programs, notably professional coffee barista training.

Ezra Ollyn Christiyani, warmly known as Ezra (33 years old), is an alumna of the barista training program organized by YIIM and INSIGHT in 2019.

Ezra currently resides with her parents in the Taman Harapan Baru housing complex in Bekasi City, West Java. In early 2020, Ezra resigned from her role as an HRD staff member to take a brief respite before pursuing new career paths. However, her plans were disrupted by the sudden outbreak of Covid-19. To sustain her daily livelihood during this crisis, Ezra temporarily turned to selling fresh vegetables.

A Turning Point Toward Transformation:

In mid-2020, Ezra was selected to participate in the comprehensive barista workshop organized by YIIM and INSIGHT. Ezra embraced the opportunity with immense joy, fulfilling an aspiration she had harbored for years.

"I was so thrilled because coffee has always been my true passion. I had dreamed of taking professional barista courses, but was constrained by tuition costs," Ezra recalled.

Upon completing the training, Ezra was selected for a practical internship at Kedai Kopi Inspirasi YIIM. Beyond valuable hands-on mentorship, Ezra received a full business start-up package from YIIM and INSIGHT comprising a mobile coffee cart, brewing equipment, and initial raw ingredients. Ezra maximized every resource to launch her independent venture.

With firm determination, Ezra inaugurated her coffee business under the banner "Ribelle Coffee." Set up in front of her parents’ store with a grab-and-go concept, the outlet operates daily from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. She offers diverse coffee beverages priced between IDR 12,000 and IDR 20,000. Alongside coffee, Ezra serves popular snacks such as fried sausages, fried Indomie noodles, french fries, and noodle omelets (martabak mie), priced from IDR 7,500 to IDR 15,000.

Broadening beyond her physical cart, Ezra expanded onto digital delivery platforms GrabFood and GoFood with 24-hour availability. She regularly provides menu discounts and shipping vouchers to attract online orders. From her coffee enterprise, Ezra generates a steady monthly turnover ranging from IDR 1,000,000 to IDR 2,000,000.

Diversifying Entrepreneurial Ventures:

Ezra is deeply grateful to achieve reliable financial independence. In addition to Ribelle Coffee, she runs multiple micro-enterprises, including mobile credit distribution and digital fresh vegetable sales via the GrabMerchant platform, actively assists her mother, and produces creative videos for her YouTube channel.

Looking toward the future, Ezra aspires to establish a cozy, well-appointed brick-and-mortar cafe where coffee enthusiasts can relax and enjoy quality brews in person.

Coffee lovers in the Bekasi area can support Ezra and sample her specialty drinks by ordering through the GrabFood app under the merchant name "Ribelle coffee."

Salam Inspirasi!
