In commemoration of National Children’s Day 2024, the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) is supported by Insight Investments Management (Insight IM), through the Education Program pillar taking an active role in supporting education in Indonesia. National Children’s Day is celebrated as an important momentum to campaign for the fulfillment of children’s rights to live, grow, develop and participate appropriately in accordance with human dignity, as well as protection from violence and discrimination.

Reporting from the official website of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia (KemenPPPA), the theme of National Children’s Day 2024 is “Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia”, the same theme as the previous year. This theme reflects the government’s commitment to continuing to protect children’s rights so that they can develop well and contribute to the nation’s progress.

YIIM and Insight IM provided educational assistance to children and the community in Cilograng Village, Cilograng District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. Assisted by partners of the Antara Cipta Karsa Foundation (Naratas Foundation) through its activity unit called “Cendikia Youth Movement” through the 2024 Village Joint Guard program.

Based on the needs analysis in the target locations, data and information were obtained that the main problem faced by village communities was access to education due to economic, environmental factors and the low level of parental awareness of the importance of education. Apart from the problem of access to education, this condition is exacerbated by children’s free access to negative content on the internet.

The 2024 Village Joint Guard Program was held on 13-20 July 2024 in Cilograng Village, Cilograng District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. YIIM together with Insight IM and Garda Scholar provide Cendikia class activities, community reading garden facilities and management training, internet safety workshops for teenagers, and donation of reading garden books. The Village Joint Guard Program has provided better access to education and increased parents’ awareness of the importance of education for their children’s future.

This activity is one part of the YIIM Education Program which is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs Number 4 concerning ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and increasing lifelong learning opportunities for all, and Number 17 concerning partnerships to achieve the goals. This program is also a form of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) or corporate social responsibility (CSR) from Insight IM to the community.

YIIM as a non-profit organization is open to support and collaboration with any party so that more and more people can benefit from YIIM’s programs and the wider the inspiration that YIIM can spread to help develop Indonesia.
