On 5 August 2025, through Zoom Cloud Meeting, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and Insight Investment Management, in collaboration with Sahabat Danurdara, Bassar Community, and Lindungi Hutan, successfully organized the Youth for Climate Action (Y4CA) Batch 2 online talk show. As part of a wider environmental campaign connecting young people, communities, and the private sector, the event carried the theme Empowering Youth, Greening the Future and provided a space for dialogue, education, and collaboration to develop practical responses to the climate crisis.

Y4CA is a collaborative program that provides young people with opportunities to participate in climate-change issues through educational, creative, and participatory approaches. Following the successful first batch, Y4CA Batch 2 introduced new formats including a digital-content competition, an online campaign, a symbolic tree-planting initiative, and an interactive online discussion.

The talk show began with remarks from Azhar, Treasurer of the YIIM Executive Board, who emphasized the importance of involving young people in environmental sustainability. He said that climate-change mitigation could not proceed without their active participation. Through Y4CA, YIIM aimed to create a space where young people could learn, build networks, and take action together for a greener future.

The talk show was attended by 32 participants from various backgrounds who actively joined the discussion and question-and-answer session. Their enthusiasm demonstrated growing environmental awareness among young people and a strong desire to take part in climate action.

The discussion featured three speakers who brought perspectives from different sectors. Isnaeni, representing PT Insight Investments Management, discussed the importance of private-sector support for environmental movements led by young people. He highlighted that sustained collaboration between companies and youth could create broader and longer-lasting environmental impact.

Miftachur Robani, Chief Executive Officer of Lindungi Hutan, emphasized the urgency of ecosystem restoration in response to the climate crisis. He explained that young people have significant potential to mobilize conservation action through organized local initiatives, including tree planting and the protection of forest areas.

Presenting the perspective of a young person with experience implementing environmental programs, Nikita Shaqilla explained that environmental concern could begin anywhere, including through personal experiences and digital activities. Young people did not need to be experts or activists to make an impact. Awareness, a willingness to learn, sharing accurate information, and simple actions such as adopting a sustainable lifestyle could all contribute to change. She also emphasized the importance of providing spaces and support so that young people’s enthusiasm could grow into meaningful contributions.

As part of their participation in Y4CA Batch 2, talk-show participants also received tree-planting certificates as a tangible contribution to the Y4CA greening campaign in Jabungan, Semarang. Although they did not plant the trees directly, they contributed to a greening effort that would be reported and documented in the Y4CA Batch 2 Youth Climate Newsletter.

The talk show formed part of YIIM’s commitment to expanding collaboration among young people, the private sector, and communities in creating a more sustainable future.
