Petualangan ARSA Brings Environmental Literacy to 50 Children
Fifty children explored plants, composting, irrigation, harvesting, and environmental creativity through a hands-on educational visit in Depok.

Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), PT Insight Investments Management, and CT ARSA Foundation collaborated on Petualangan ARSA: Jaga Bumi, Jago Literasi, an educational program designed to build environmental literacy and encourage positive behaviour among children.
Delivered during November and December 2023, the program combined a science and environmental literacy EDUTRIP, community training and empowerment, and Eco-Fest Kamal 2023. It targeted 50 children from kindergarten through elementary-school level who participated in CT ARSA Foundation literacy activities in Kamal, West Jakarta.
The EDUTRIP was held on 22 November 2023 at Sendalu Permaculture, Jalan Persahabatan No. 67, Sukmajaya, Depok. Attendees included Gatut Mukti, General Manager of CT ARSA Foundation; Isnaeni Setiawan, CSR representative of Insight; Raihan Zahrah, Program Officer at YIIM; and Gibran, representing Sendalu Permaculture.
Gatut Mukti opened the activity, followed by Isnaeni Setiawan, who introduced Insight’s Transforming Investments to Social Impact approach. He explained that investing in children’s future could be achieved through enjoyable education that combined literacy with care for the environment. The partners then made symbolic program handovers to Sendalu Permaculture and a representative of the participating children.
Children learned about plant parts, fertilizer, plant care, the uses of plants, and environmental creativity through five activity stations. The stations introduced magical seeds, plant-fertilizing magic, a fairy water-flow activity, harvesting and potion making, and creative fairies. Participants also practiced planting mint and making fertilizer.
The playful format helped the children connect scientific ideas with direct experience. They responded enthusiastically and learned practical ways to care for plants and their surroundings.
By bringing together nonprofit, investment, education, and environmental partners, the program expanded access to engaging learning outside the classroom. It contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Salam Inspirasi!
