ARSA Adventure Brings Environmental Literacy Education for 50 Children
Fifty children explored organic farming, composting, smart irrigation, and ecological arts through an interactive edutrip at Sendalu Permaculture in Depok.

The Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM), PT Insight Investments Management, and CT ARSA Foundation collaborated to deliver Petualangan ARSA: Jaga Bumi, Jago Literasi, an innovative educational edutrip designed to foster environmental stewardship and nature literacy among young children.
Held at Sendalu Permaculture in Sukmajaya, Depok, West Java, the program engaged 50 kindergarten and primary school children from marginalized communities in Kamal, West Jakarta. The children rotated through five interactive learning stations led by permaculture experts.
At the stations, children discovered plant biology, identified medicinal herbs, prepared organic compost from garden waste, learned solar and drip irrigation mechanics, and planted mint seedlings in biodegradable pots to take home. The day concluded with an outdoor eco-art session where children created nature collages using fallen leaves and twigs.
Facilitators observed that experiential learning in nature significantly expands children’s scientific curiosity and builds enduring habits of environmental responsibility from an early age.
The program supports SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Inspiration Greetings!
