Business opportunities in the field of AC servicing and cleaning continue to grow as people's need for air conditioning maintenance increases, especially in urban areas such as Jabodetabek.

Business opportunities in the field of AC servicing and cleaning continue to grow as people’s need for air conditioning maintenance increases, especially in urban areas such as Jabodetabek. To help the community take advantage of this opportunity, the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) held an AC Service and Washing Entrepreneurship Training on 23-25 June 2026 at the YIIM Office through the Skilled and Empowered Community Program (MATA).
This training was attended by 10 participants who were divided into 5 groups, each consisting of 2 people. The group division is designed to encourage collaboration while preparing participants to build an AC service and cleaning business together after the training ends.
During the three days of training, participants received learning that combined theory and direct practice. The training was guided by Suaib, S.I.P. as a trainer who has more than 20 years of experience in the AC industry, starting from installer, troubleshoot technician, to heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) design engineer. Participants were also accompanied by Bambang Setiaji as an assistant trainer, an alumni of YIIM AC training who has now succeeded in developing an independent AC servicing and cleaning business.
On the first day, participants were provided with an understanding of the basics of the air conditioning system, starting from how the AC works, the function of each component, to the electrical system that supports its operation. This understanding is an important initial provision before participants enter the practical session.
Entering the second day, participants began to explore the technical skills needed for AC service work. After learning about the types of refrigerant and the various equipment used, participants practiced removing components, connecting indoor and outdoor units, flaring pipes, filling refrigerant, vacuum processes, and analyzing damage to AC units.
On the third day, the focus of learning shifted to AC washing techniques. Participants learn the use of various supporting tools, such as jet cleaners and protective covers, before carrying out washing simulations according to the operational standards that have been taught. Through this practice, participants are equipped with the technical skills needed to run AC cleaning services professionally. Apart from that, participants also received training regarding the professional ethics of AC technicians and how to provide optimal service to customers.
Through this training, YIIM hopes that participants will not only gain new skills, but also have the confidence to take advantage of available business opportunities. Equipped with knowledge, practical experience and understanding of customer service, participants are expected to be better prepared to build independent businesses and increase job opportunities in the future.
