The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

Helping victims of natural disasters, PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (Insight) supported by the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) distributed social assistance in the form of basic necessities, baby equipment, tarpaulin tents, mats and sarongs to victims of the earthquake disaster in Mamuju Regency and Majene Regency, West Sulawesi Province, as well as victims of the Mount Ile Lewotolok eruption disaster in Lembata Regency, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara Province with a total of 1,223 beneficiaries.

Fiena Dian Alvanti, Deputy Chair of the CSR Team at PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), said in a press release in Jakarta yesterday that the distribution of social assistance was motivated by the condition of the people in the Mamuju, Majene and Lembata areas who still had to live in refugee camps because they had lost their homes. “Considering that Indonesia’s conditions in the midst of a pandemic have not yet improved, Insight and YIIM are trying to help people in need,” he said.

PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) has distributed humanitarian aid to 861 people of productive age, 108 elderly, 96 babies and toddlers, and to 58 children aged 5-12 years for victims of the Mamuju and Majene earthquake disaster, West Sulawesi. Meanwhile, for the Ile Lewotolok mountain disaster, Lembata, East Nusa Tenggara, PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) and YIIM have provided assistance to 4 people of productive age, 72 elderly people, 20 babies and toddlers, and 4 breastfeeding mothers.

This humanitarian aid was distributed to the Sulai volunteer post in Majene, the Bangkit Indonesia Volunteer Post, West Sulawesi. In distributing this humanitarian aid, Insight and YIIM were assisted by local communities. Then in the East Nusa Tenggara area, the distribution of humanitarian aid was assisted by the local community to speed up the process of distributing aid to the joint Spensa and Don Bosko Command Post in Jontona Village, Rumah Kita Post, and Elviren Command Post.

Fiena Dian said, her party expressed support for the implementation of distribution of aid to victims of natural disasters. “We really support the distribution of this aid, hopefully our brothers and sisters who are victims of disasters can be helped, hopefully everyone will be given health and recover quickly to carry out activities as usual,” she said.

Previously, in November 2020 Insight together with YIIM had also distributed 75 (seventy five) basic food packages to communities economically affected by Covid-19. This assistance was distributed in Ataili Village and Waijarang Village, Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

Since the beginning of 2021, many natural disasters have occurred in Indonesia, as well as the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic which has not yet improved, PT. Insight Investments Management, together with CSR partners, will continue to take initiatives to help communities in need. Previously, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) recorded that total losses due to the earthquake in Majene and Mamuju Regencies, West Sulawesi as of January 26 2021 reached IDR 829.1 billion.

This total was identified for the Mamuju and Majene Regencies in West Sulawesi Province. Total damage and losses in Majene reached IDR 449.8 billion. This figure is assessed from the residential sector at IDR 365.3 billion, social at IDR 76.9 billion, economic at IDR 5.13 billion, cross-sector IDR 2.1 billion and infrastructure at IDR 235 million.

Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
