The Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management and the Class IIA Pondok Bambu Women’s Penitentiary, conducted a specialized Entrepreneurship Management Training for 30 correctional inmates in East Jakarta.

The program is part of YIIM’s comprehensive correctional reintegration pathway, which aims to equip incarcerated women with the business acumen, financial discipline, and self-confidence needed to reintegrate into society and start micro-enterprises after completing their sentences.

The training sessions covered business opportunity identification, simple cash flow and cost accounting, product branding and packaging, customer service excellence, and peer-cooperative formation. Trainees engaged in practical simulations creating actionable micro-business plans tailored to their vocational skills, such as culinary arts, sewing, and hairdressing.

Penitentiary officials commended the initiative, noting that practical entrepreneurship education reduces recidivism and provides inmates with genuine hope and dignity for their future.

This initiative supports SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
