Access to safe, hygienic healthcare is a fundamental right for every child. For underprivileged families across rural and coastal areas, securing standard surgical care such as circumcision often poses a significant financial hurdle. Providing accessible, professional medical interventions lifts this burden from parents while safeguarding long-term child hygiene and well-being.

To address this need directly, the second phase of the Free Circumcision Program in Lombok took place from September 24 to 26, 2026. The humanitarian initiative was organized through a partnership among LKS Abu Hurairah Peduli (AHP), PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM), and medical teams from YASKI. Over the three-day program, 200 children from low-income households received safe, professional medical circumcision free of charge.

Phased Rollout Across Three Key Locations

To ensure broad accessibility across Lombok Island, medical operations were carried out in three strategically selected communities. The first session took place at Al-Hidayah Mosque in Ampenan, Mataram City. The team then moved to As-Sunnah Islamic Boarding School in Bagik Nyaka, East Lombok, before concluding at Ibnu Sirin Mosque in Sembalun, located near the base of Mount Rinjani.

Each child received professional surgical treatment from qualified practitioners using sterile procedures. Beyond the procedure itself, the program provided essential recovery medications, post-care checkups, educational participation certificates, and celebratory gift packages to keep young patients encouraged and comfortable throughout their recovery.

Community Gratitude and Collaborative Impact

Local communities welcomed the initiative with immense warmth and gratitude. Parents expressed relief at receiving high-grade medical care for their sons without facing prohibitive out-of-pocket costs. Volunteers and medical personnel maintained an encouraging, child-friendly atmosphere that helped put participants at ease.

The organizing partners extended their deepest gratitude to all donors, medical practitioners, field volunteers, and local host institutions who contributed to the program’s success. This initiative advances key targets under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly No Poverty (SDG 1), Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
