Continuing the spirit of Ramadan solidarity, on Monday, 25 March 2024, the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM) and PT Insight Investments Management organized a community service day in Pinang Ranti, Makasar Subdistrict, East Jakarta.

The event brought together alumni of YIIM’s professional barbershop training program to provide free haircut services for 35 underprivileged residents, including children, youth, and the elderly. Alongside the grooming services, the team distributed 100 nutritious takjil and iftar meal packages to local families and informal workers.

The alumni barbers, who previously completed YIIM’s vocational training and entrepreneurship incubation, volunteered their professional skills enthusiastically, turning their acquired expertise into direct social impact for their local community.

Bapak Ahmad, a local community leader in Pinang Ranti, expressed high appreciation for the innovative initiative, highlighting that the combination of free personal care and food assistance brought joy and practical relief to vulnerable families during Ramadan.

This program demonstrates the circular impact of empowerment: equipping individuals with vocational skills enables them not only to achieve economic independence but also to become active agents of community well-being, aligned with SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
