Gempita Ramadan Delivers Iftar Packages and Free Haircuts in Pondok Pinang
Waste picker community members received 100 iftar meal boxes, takjil, and drinks, while 25 residents received free haircuts from two YIIM training alumni.
On Thursday, March 28, 2024, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) supported by PT Insight Investments Management held a GEMPITA Ramadan event for the waste picker community in Pondok Pinang. The event took place at Gang Kenanga, Jalan Kenanga, RT 01/RW 08, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.
YIIM distributed 100 iftar meal boxes, 100 takjil packages, and 100 cups of iced milk coffee for waste picker families to break their fast with dignity and joy.
In addition, two alumni of YIIM and Insight’s barber vocational training—M. Yusuf and Abdul Rozaq—provided free professional haircut services to 25 local residents and children.
This initiative reflects social inclusion and empathy for informal waste pickers while highlighting the valuable contributions of vocational alumni to grassroots communities.
This program contributes to SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
