The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

There are many ways to develop the economy in society. One of them is implemented by the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM). This foundation develops the people’s economy through hair barber training.

Even though YIIM still plays a role on a limited scale, the contributions made by YIIM since its founding in 2014 will bring broad benefits.

On this occasion, YIIM is again carrying out training for barber candidates for the first batch (group) in the 2020 program year. This program is again supported by PT. Insight Investment Management, as YIIM’s main partner.

For the first batch in 2020, the participants who took part in the training consisted of 15 people with various backgrounds, namely young people who had dropped out of school, casual workers, unemployed people and former inmates from the Central Jakarta Correctional Center (Bapas) (Bapas).

Secretary of the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM), Dewi Astari, said that her foundation’s focus is one of the areas of economic empowerment. “What we carry out focuses on the urban and rural economy. For the urban economy, one of them is barber training,” said Dewi in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 11 2020.

Dewi hopes that participants who take part in the training will benefit and be independent as entrepreneurs in the hair barbering sector.

Syaifulloh, as the speaker and barber trainer, presented theories and explanations about shaving techniques and getting to know various types of hair and barber equipment.

Syaifulloh is the first alumni of the barber program organized by YIIM. In this training he was assisted by two (2) assistant trainers who were also alumni of previous training.

The participants seemed enthusiastic about participating in session after session of the event, including practicing shaving the hair of the volunteer models that had been provided by the committee.

“YIIM’s main focus is to oversee the entire process and deliver advanced training participants to the apprenticeship and coaching stages so that they are truly ready to open an independent business in the barbering sector so that it is hoped that new jobs will be created and can contribute to economic empowerment and reduce unemployment and poverty,” he said.
