The Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (INSIGHT) are always committed to supporting the strengthening of community independence through a series of inclusive and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

CO.ID, JAKARTA — The investment management company, PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (Insight), together with the Indonesian Building Inspiration Foundation (YIIM) is holding an entrepreneurship training class that focuses on honing skills and creating job opportunities during the pandemic. This training is specifically for economically disadvantaged residents.

According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), around 29.12 million people of working age in Indonesia were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in August 2020. The open unemployment rate (TPT) jumped to 7.07 percent from 5.23 percent. DKI Jakarta is the province with the highest TPT at 10.95 percent.

The government has made various efforts, such as disbursing economic stimulus packages so that companies do not lay off workers, tax incentives. Apart from that, the government provides social assistance for formal and informal workers and even provides pre-employment cards.

Director of Insight Investments Management Ria M Warganda said, based on this data, Insight is trying to provide added value for stakeholders and invite the investing public to invest. This is to support social activities and community empowerment through innovation in financial service products.

Ria said that the entrepreneurship training class program held by Insight was in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

“Through this activity, it is hoped that we can guide Insight training class alumni who come from economically disadvantaged communities to become successful people in entrepreneurship,” he said during a virtual press conference, Tuesday (13/7).

One of the residents who took part in this training was Muslih Ridwan. After attending a culinary training class, he dared to run a business selling chicken noodles. Apart from getting training opportunities, Muslih also received assistance with chicken noodle business equipment.

There is also Wanmayetti, a culinary training alumni who found out about the Insight entrepreneurship training through a friend. She and more than 20 mothers and young women who are under the Gemah Ripah Cooperative, have taken part in culinary training. After attending the training, they opened a cake and rice box business.

Through this synergy and initiative, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) hopes that the programs implemented can provide real benefits, open up wider opportunities for independence for participants, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
