, JAKARTA – The economic weakening caused by the corona virus or Covid-19 outbreak is being felt throughout society, especially the underprivileged.

Their fate is now getting worse, not only because all activities have stopped due to Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), but also due to the decline in people’s purchasing power in the midst of the pandemic.

Referring to this, Chairman of the Management of the Indonesia Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) Chrisbiantoro said that his party had conceptualized integrated aid distribution.

The distribution of aid resulting from collaboration with PT Insight Investment Management was said to be carried out by empowering Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and online motorcycle taxis.

So, not only can it reduce the burden on society, it is believed that direct aid distribution can also turn the wheels of the economy, especially at the lowest levels of society.

“The spirit of the assistance this time remains the same as the assistance distributed by YIIM previously, namely helping to overcome Covid 19 while also helping the community’s economy,” said Chrisbiantoro.

“By purchasing aid packages from small stalls, ordering masks from MSME tailors and involving online motorcycle taxis in distributing aid, it will revive the community’s economy, thus helping the community’s economic resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.

He said the assistance took the form of handing over 150 basic food packages consisting of oil, sugar, rice, instant noodles and vitamin C to informal workers in the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings.

Apart from that, his party also distributed 3,000 pieces of cloth masks which were distributed to informal workers, such as motorcycle taxi drivers, casual workers and street vendors in the Johar Baru, Cempaka Putih and Tanah Abang areas, Central Jakarta.

As well as Cilincing, North Jakarta; Blok M Market, Kebayoran Baru Community Health Center, Posyandu Kencana I cadres in the Petogogan Village area, South Jakarta.

“We also distributed aid to the Ciputat and Jatiwaringin Bekasi underground Sufism communities, as well as journalists who are members of the South Jakarta Journalists Working Group (Pokja),” said Chrisbiantoro.

“Apart from that, cloth masks were also sent to Pondok Wetan, Yogyakarta. In total, no less than 3000 cloth masks have been handed over to the public,” he explained.

At the same time, Chrisbiantoro also revealed that his party also distributed aid in the form of 12 dozen cloth masks and 100 t-shirts with the words ‘Maintain Body Distance, Strengthen Social Solidarity, Covid 19: Indonesia Will Win’ to PMI South Jakarta.

He said that the t-shirts ordered from home-based screen printing craftsmen were not only used as clothing for officers and volunteers, but also as a campaign medium for the public to maintain a safe distance during the pandemic.

“We also distributed 100 packages of packed rice to PMI South Jakarta volunteers and 17 dozen cloth masks to PMI Central Jakarta,” said Chrisbiantoro.

By distributing cloth masks, he hopes that people will realize the importance of wearing masks to prevent the Covid 19 pandemic.

Apart from that, through the campaign taglines #Maskers for the People and #Let’sWearMaskers, the party encourages people not to buy up medical masks which are now urgently needed by medical personnel on the front line.

“In particular, YIIM together with Posyandu Kencana I in Petogogan Village also distributed aid to a toddler named Kafi, aged 2 years 8 months who suffers from scoliosis,” said Chrisbiantoro.

Kafi said he had a curvature of the spine, resulting in difficulty breathing and digestion.

As a result, Kafi’s growth was stunted and his condition was not the size of a toddler his age.

“The assistance for toddler Kafi includes an NGT tube for feeding aids, a digital thermometer, syringes and medicine as well as pampers, milk and basic food packages for his parents who work as motorbike taxi drivers,” he explained.

Simultaneously, Kebayoran Baru District Health Center officer Sudarmi expressed his thanks and appreciation for the medical equipment assistance from YIIM and PT Insight Investment Management.

“Thank you to the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation, these masks will be very useful. We will distribute these masks to people who visit the puskesmas to prevent the transmission of Covid 19,” explained Sudarmi.
