Currently, the Jakarta metropolitan area is facing an increasingly complex thermal ecological crisis as a direct consequence of the uncontrolled rate of urbanization. As a form of commitment in supporting the Pillar of Education program, the Indonesian Inspiration Building Foundation (YIIM) in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT) (PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT)) and PT Innovation Finansial Teknologi (Makmur) supported by U-Inspire Indonesia partners as implementing partners and held the Jakarta Weather Detective (U-DETECT Jakarta) program at SMAN 48 Jakarta on June 17 2026.

This program was attended by partner representatives, in this case Mrs. Ria Meristika Warganda as director of PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), Stefanus Dennis Winarto as Chief Investment Officer Makmur, Mrs. Giovanni Chyntia Pradipta as Lead U-Inspire Indonesia and Mrs. Diantini Rahayu as YIIM Management.

This program focuses on technology that actively involves students in environmental monitoring using simple sensors and presents an interactive and relevant learning approach for high school students.

The Jakarta Weather Detective program involves 30 students divided into 15 groups to monitor environmental conditions while strengthening STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) literacy and the concept of citizen science. Students no longer only learn from books, but are directly involved in simple research processes.

The Jakarta Weather Detective (U-DETECT Jakarta) program is in line with the spirit of the Asta Cita of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, especially in strengthening human resource (HR) development, science, technology, education, health, sports achievements, gender equality, as well as strengthening the role of women, youth and people with disabilities.

This program is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs Number 4 and SDGs Number 13 concerning Quality Education and Handling Climate Change by presenting an interactive, relevant learning approach and strengthening STEM literacy.

Changing learning methods from just reading books to direct involvement (experiential learning) is the core of improving the quality of inclusive and effective education that actively monitors environmental conditions in real-time. This raises awareness from an early age and educates the younger generation about real action in dealing with climate change and pollution in cities.

This program also reflects the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, especially in environmental aspects through monitoring temperature parameters as the main program activity.

Stefanus Dennis Winarto, Chief Investment Officer of Makmur, said, “Just like investments that grow through compounding, small contributions made on an ongoing basis can have a big impact over time. U-Inspire Indonesia, represented by Mrs. Giovanni Chyntia Pradipta, gave certificates of appreciation and thanks to the Inspirasi Indonesia Pembangunan Foundation, PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), Makmur, and SMAN 48 East Jakarta as well as handing over the U-Detect sensor equipment to SMAN 48 East Jakarta.

With this program, it is hoped that the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation and program partners can help improve education and build environmental awareness.
